THE HOTEL
DRINKING WATER – THIRSTY? Tap-water in Switzerland is very high quality and you can drink it without any hesitation. Water that is not drinkable will always be labelled as “Kein Trinkwasser” (“no drinking water”). If you prefer, mineral water can be purchased from the vending machine on the ground floor.
LAUNDRY SERVICE – DID THE WAITER SPILL WINE ON YOUR SHIRT? WE CAN HELP. Laundry bags are located in the wardrobe. Please complete the form and place everything in the bag. Make sure you hand it to the housekeeping staff or the reception before 10.00 am. For dry cleaning we use a local dry cleaner.
LIFT – NO, YOU DON’T HAVE TO WALK. We have one elevator that will take you up to the 4th floor. To reach the rooms on our 5th floor, you may take the elevator to the 4th floor and then use the stairs from there.
LUGGAGE STORAGE – NO NEED TO CARRY IT ALL AROUND. Should you arrive early or decide to leave late on the day of departure you can leave your luggage with us at the reception – for free ツ (please note: we decline all liability)
DOGS ARE WELCOME – AND THEY ARE FREE. Ask for a dog rug when you reserve your room. The hotel does not provide any dog food.
PARKING You may park at any of the public parking spaces behind the hotel. You can purchase parking tickets for the public parking online (CHF 10.00 for 24 hours) our use the parking app PayByPhone or EasyPark. The space directly in front of the hotel is reserved for loading and unloading luggage. We thank you for not parking there.

SMOKING – NO SMOKING PLEASE, AND WE MEAN IT! The entire hotel has been non-smoking by Swiss law since July 2009. Smoking is allowed outside the hotel e.g. in front of the restaurant, on the terrace or in the park.
TRAINS FOR EXCURSIONS – HERE YOU WILL FIND SOME OF THE MOST ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TRAIN DEPARTURE SCHEDULES. These departures are from Interlaken Ost (east) train station which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
- Bern: Direct train every hour on the hour.
- Luzern: Hourly 4 minutes past, e.g. 10.04.
- Jungfrau: Hourly 5 minutes past and 35 minutes past, e.g. 10.05.

UMBRELLAS – OH NO, IT’S RAINING! Please come to the reception and we will be happy to lend you an umbrella.
VENDING MACHINE – MORE HUNGER? On the ground floor by the staircase, you can purchase drinks and snacks from the vending machine. The machine accepts accepts CHF coins only.
WLAN – YOUR CONNECTION TO THE WORLD. WLAN is free throughout the entire house. The password will be handed out upon arrival.
THE RESTAURANT
BREAKFAST – HUNGRY IN THE MORNING? Breakfast is served in our Restaurant Taverne on the ground floor and is included in your room rate. Our buffet has a variety of cold and warm dishes including vegetarian options.
Opening hours: Daily 07.00h until 10.30h.
RESTAURANT TAVERNE – HUNGRY AGAIN? WE ARE HERE FOR YOU ALL DAY. Our à la carte Restaurant Taverne is located on the ground floor and serves Swiss specialities as well as international dishes and selected wines. The restaurant is non-smoking. Opening hours:
- Daily 16h until 23h.
- Cheese fondue from 16h, à la carte from 18h, last order 21.45h.
- Closed on Wednesdays
Should you have any special requests or allergies please let us know. Reservations can be made directly at the restaurant, by dialling 616 or through the reception team.
WLAN – YOUR CONNECTION TO THE WORLD. WLAN is free throughout the entire house. Please ask our staff for the password.
THE ROOMS
ADAPTER – NEED POWER? In Switzerland the voltage is 220/230 volts. You can borrow the most common adapters and extension cables for free at the reception. Should you wish to keep them a charge of CHF 10.00 will apply.
CHANGING OF BEDDING AND TOWELS. We change bed-linen every 3rd day of your stay. Towels will be changed if you leave them on the floor in the bathroom.
CHECK IN & OUT – WE’RE GLAD YOU CAME AND SAD YOU’RE LEAVING! Reserved rooms are available from 15.00H. Rooms on 5th Floor from 16.00H. Latest check-out time is 11.00H. Extension | late check-out will be charged as follows:
- From 12.00H until 14.00H an extra charge of CHF 70.00
- From 14.00h until 16.00H an extra charge of CHF 100.00 CHF
- After 16.00h you will be charged the full daily rate
COOLING SYSTEM – FEELING TOO HOT? All our 4* rooms have a cooling system and it can be controlled via the small panel on the wall. Please note that the systems capacity can cool down the temperature of the room to max 5 degrees below the outdoor temperature.
EXTRA BEDS – TRAVELLING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. In some rooms there is the possibility of adding an extra bed. It will be charged as follows:
- Children up to the age of 7: Free
- Children aged 8 to 13 years: CHF 35.00
- From 14 years: CHF 50.00
Please note extra beds are ONLY available in the following room categories and ONLY upon requests: Large, Large B, XL & XL B. It is not possible to have extra beds in any room in the 5th Floor @ Hotel Interlaken.
RED CARD – WHAT DOES IT MEAN? If you do not want to be disturbed in your room, please put the “Do Not Disturb” sign (red card) on the outside of the door. When leaving the room please do not forget to remove the sign again or turn it to green card. Please be informed that the room will not be cleaned after 04.00 pm.
ROOMSERVICE – FEELING LAZY? We offer room service from 18.00h until 21.00h. You will find a full menu by scanning the QR-code in your room.
ROOM KEY CARDS – KEY INFORMATION TO CHECKING OUT. Please hand in all your key cards upon departure. They are recycled and used again. Lost keys will be charged with CHF 10.00
SMOKING – NO SMOKING PLEASE, AND WE MEAN IT! Please notice that the entire hotel is non-smoking by Swiss law since July 2009. If you smoke inside the room or on the balcony, we will charge you a minimum fee of a one night accommodation charge. Smoking is allowed outside the hotel e.g. in front of the restaurant or on the terrace. Thank you for not smoking in the room – the next guest will be thankful.
TELEVISION – FREE TV – NEED SOME TIME OFF FROM THOSE HOLIDAYS? WATCH TELE. On the television you can receive more than 100 channels in many different languages. Please scan the QR-code in your room to consult the channel list and find your favourite programs. On channel 1 you have panorama live pictures as well as information from the region.
TELEPHONE – I JUST CALLED…….. For the different departments please press the special symbol on the landline phone next to your bed. For calling room to room just dial 2 followd by the room number (free of charge). Local calls starting with 033 are also free of charge. For an outside line dial the requested number.
