OUR TIPS
- Stroll from the bridge at the Hotel Beau Rivage along the canal to Unterseen and visit the charming Stadthausplatz square. Here you will also find the Tourismuseum of Interlaken.
- Get an ice cream at the Gelateria Azzurro and enjoy it on a bench on the Höhematte while you watch the paragliders land.
- Fancy a walk in the forest? Take the ring trail on the Kleiner Rugen. It’s an easy hike of around 1.5 hours that offers great views of Interlaken, the lakes and the mountains. There are also interesting information boards about the art of Clara von Rappard.
- If you are travelling by train to Lucerne or Bern, sit on the right-hand side in the direction of travel. This gives you the best view of the lakes.
- Cycling! The landscape around Interlaken and between the lakes is quite flat and is ideal for excursions by bike. Just a few steps from the hotel, you can hire bikes of all sizes from Flying Wheels or take part in guided tours. If you show your Hotel Interlaken guest card, you will receive a 10% discount.
- Don’t miss out on a visit to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The beautiful old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is worth a visit whatever the weather. There are direct trains every hour on the hour and the journey takes less than an hour.
- If you would like to take a round trip on Lake Brienz, we recommend departing at 11.07 or 14.07, as you will be travelling on the old Lötschberg steamboat – a wonderful experience.
